In the Gospel of John the Apostle speaks to believers as those he loves using the term “little children”. Such a term as “little children” is a very special expression of endearment. But it also is a special expression of fatherly care and concern for the growth of those he is attempting to care over.
For those who have physically arrived at adulthood in this natural life, it could be thought of as an insult to be called a child. Even more, when there are those of us who are nearing retirement or in retirement, to consider ourselves as a child may be a hard thing to do.
Yet the Bible clearly expresses in 1 John that we must think of ourselves as children with respect to our relationship to God. We are little children in need of spiritual growth every waking hour. We are in need of exercising our minds to learning, our bodies to practice, and our lives to service until the Lord takes us from this life, to be with Him.
The manner of our training and growth is outlined in the Bible in several ways.
The purpose of this web page is to help and encourage you in this training and growth.
Below is a chart which shows the cornerstone of a well-founded Christian life. There needs to be balance and active participation in each of these four aspects of Christian living. The Church’s purpose is to help empower and enable you to enjoy the fruitfulness and joy of such a life.
